Canberra has a compact city centre and Canberra is divided up into various neighbourhoods, locations, districts and suburbs. Home to many tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants and shopping centres, the main neighbourhoods and districts in Canberra are often divided by the vast Lake Burley Griffin. Canberra city centre contains many of Australia's premier, historic landmarks, such as the Australian War Memorial, the National Gallery, New Parliament House and the striking Telstra Tower, with panoramic views across Canberra and Lake Burley Griffin. Central Canberra also features large entertainment complexes and a lively nightlife, including wine bars, cinemas, theatres, nightclubs and casinos.




Commonwealth Avenue, in Canberra city centre, is where you will find many of the city's most luxurious hotels, including the Hyatt Hotel, one of Canberra's most lavish hotels.
